Andrew Savage
Director of Communications and Public Affairs
As his family cut and hauled cords of wood to heat their drafty 200 year-old farmhouse truck-load by truck-load, Andrew developed a deep appreciation for the role of energy and energy efficiency in our daily lives at an early age.
Andrew comes to AllEarth having served as deputy chief of staff and legislative director for Vermont Congressman Peter Welch. He managed the Congressman’s legislative team and helped the Congressman author and pass a $6 billion national energy efficiency retrofit program through the U.S. House. Previously, Andrew was communications director for Congressman Welch and helped lead an initiative to make Welch’s office the first carbon neutral office in Congress. He also directed communication’s for President Barack Obama’s successful presidential primary in Utah.
Andrew received his bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor in environmental studies from Middlebury College. He is a former member of the Burlington Conservation Board.
When not working, Andrew can be found running, biking, and skiing, or otherwise embarking on some home or furniture project he is only partially qualified to do. He is a native of Calais, Vermont and lives in Burlington with his wife Morgan.
