Earth Turbines

House with Earth TurbineThe Earth Turbine 2500® was designed to generate clean, renewable electricity in your own backyard while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and securing a fixed electricity cost for the life of the turbine. For sites with average wind speeds starting at 10 mph, this complete wind energy system provides approximately one-third of the electricity needs of an average U.S. household.

The goal of our dedicated team of renewable energy engineers with over 25 years experience in the wind industry is to make the Earth Turbine 2500 a reliable, durable and affordable grid-connected wind energy system.

The Earth Turbine uses a patented direct drive gearless induction generator that produces AC power, eliminating the need for an inverter. This innovative design was chosen for its durability and relative simplicity.

Complete with a 112’ tilt-up tower and a wireless monitoring interface, the 2500 weighs a hefty 450 lbs., providing superior stability for a small wind system. It is easily installed and connects directly to the grid through your home or business.

*NOTE: AllEarth Renewables uses the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) standard of 11 meters/second (24.6 mph) for measuring power of a wind turbine. By testing to this standard, turbine manufacturers allow customers to compare the power production of different turbines at the same rated wind speed.

Gearless Induction Generator:

In January of 2010, AllEarth Renewables’ founder, David Blittersdorf was awarded a patent for a proprietary direct drive induction generator capable of being directly connected to the power grid for the creation of electrical power. This patented generator is mounted on a 112’ guyed tilt-up tower, placing the turbine at optimum elevation to utilize the power of the wind. It incorporates a wireless monitoring interface and weighs a hefty 450 lbs., providing unprecedented durability for a small wind system.

Tall Tower Advantage:

Tower height is critical to the efficiency of a small scale wind turbine. When a turbine is placed above the zone of turbulence it has access to higher velocity winds which are also smoother and provide greater power.

To support our goal of designing a small scale wind turbine that produces maximum electricity, the Earth Turbine 2500 system comes complete with a 112’ guyed tilt-up tall tower to place the turbine at the optimum elevation to utilize the power of the wind.

The Earth Turbine 2500 is undergoing testing to be certified to the AWEA Small Wind Performance and Safety Standard. For details, please see the full standard available on the following link:
