Manufacturing Technician

AllEarth Renewables, Inc. seeks a technically minded team member who works in both our production department and in the warehouse. Works both independently and in a team to build and assemble AER parts and products. Confidently and safely operates all equipment needed to perform job duties. Keeps supervisor advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assigned. Must be flexible with and adaptable to changes in product and production processes. Consistency and attention to detail is critical. Reports to Production Supervisor.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Produce Dual Axis Solar Trackers and other products by assembling and testing mechanical, electromechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Closely follow written instructions to perform manufacturing tasks in a consistent manner.
  • Adhere to Lean Manufacturing principles and safety protocols.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by doing cycle counts and performing transactions in cloud-based business software.
  • Identify and troubleshoot quality issues as they arise and clearly communicate them with Production Supervisor and Engineering Team.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Regularly inspect, clean, and perform maintenance on machinery to keep it in good working order.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Assist with electronic assemblies or repairs as assigned.
  • Assist in field installations and/or repairs as needed or directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Has a strong grasp of technical concepts.
  • Has experience using basic power and hand tools.
  • Can troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Can stand and walk for long periods of the day and do heavy lifting, bending, squatting, etc.
  • Can perform repetitive and demanding tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Uses time effectively and efficiently.
  • Positive, ambitious, and proactive.
  • Awareness of job’s impact on customer experience
  • Flexible and willing to take on whatever tasks are required in a small company.
  • Able to accept direction on given assignments as well as work independently.
  • Ability to occasionally work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • 2 year technical degree preferred, or appropriate experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience a plus.
  • An enthusiasm for renewable energy and an interest in sustainability.
  • Basic language, spelling, communication, and math skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • Able to follow policies and procedures.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including overtime, as needed.
  • Able to travel locally as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.

Job Details

Job Type: Full-time/ Hourly / Non-Exempt
Schedule: M – F, 7:30am – 4:00 pm
Salary: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
